We held an open meeting in January 2025 to consider the options for our organisation, which since 2020 has been operating without sufficient committee members. We looked at what BRBAC has offered arts groups over the last 50 years and what it should provide in the future, with additional contributions from the organisers of recent borough arts events. There wasn't a firm conclusion, but it was agreed that we should focus on promoting member groups rather than trying to run arts festivals such as BRBAC organised up to 2018 (these festivals all made use of the Harlequin Theatre)

Although our name references the Borough, we are in fact a volunteer-run charity, funded by subscriptions from affiliated groups (£25 when last collected in 2022). To remain viable there must be sufficient benefits to justify reinstating subscriptions, but in addition more committee members are urgently needed. They also act as trustees of the charity, and are normally appointed from amongst representatives of the member groups. Some existing trustees wish to retire, so new members will enable us to more actively help member groups and promote arts in the Borough.
